Oh, the camping weekend! It went pretty well. I had a smaller crowd then I expected, but it was a good bunch of kids.
So what did we do?
We did the normal church, youth camping experience.
We did devotionals and prayer partners:

We played lots of games:

We sang songs around the campfire:

We took a long hike:

We studied nature:

We had craft time:

We ate and ate and ate.
And we chased each other around with marshmallow guns into the dark night while one youth was wearing a cheap, glow in the dark, hockey goalie mask.
Yep just normal youth group stuff.
There was only one fatality. It was my poor exercise ball. We brought it to play games with and it got too close to the fire. Poor big, green ball, we shall never have you to play human foosball or extreme four square again. A moment of silence, please.

So I am taking about 15 youth age kids on a camping trip this weekend. We are staying in things that are labeled as cabins but I am not really sure if you can call them that.
Things I am hoping for this weekend:
1. I make it back alive. I am not joking you never know what is going to happen when you do things like this.
2. That everyone going makes it back alive. This is the sign of a good youth event.
3. That all adults that say they are going actually go. So far no one has backed out.
4. The kids do minimal mischief. I am expecting some mischief, which is okay, just none that results in big fees or anyone compromised if you know hat I mean. I do not want any retreat babies.
5. That everyone has a good time, and maybe learns just a little something, or has a small spiritual experience.
Things that I hope do not happen:
1. Again no retreat babies.
2. Nothing catches on fire except the fire wood. Once again a major feat with kids this age.
3. No strange animals come into the cabins or tents.
4. It does not storm. This has happened on a youth camping trip before and was not fun or dry.
5. No angry parents.
Just pray for it to be a good, safe time.
